Natural
therapies update.......

We are currently working on the PRACTITIONER SERVICES section of the website. Once this section is
operational you will be able to access confidential online
consultations with me in nutrition, naturopathy,
homeopathy and skin care. In the new year I
will be commencing postgraduate studies in Nutrition Medicine, so
up-to-date knowledge in this field will be applied to holistic client
treatment plans. In the meantime, personal consultations are available
at the Margate clinic and I am very excited to announce the new
clinic location at Core Yoga Studios, 5/72 Vulture Street West End,
on Wednesdays commencing January 13th.
Core Yoga Studios is a sublime hatha yoga studio in the heart of West End
run by dynamic duo Nathan and Chanthalah. Group and individual
classes are offered from Monday-Sunday.

IT'S OFFICIAL:
Organic food is more nutrient rich than conventional
produce. A 3-year critical evaluation of the nutritional and sanitary
quality of organic food was conducted by the French Agency for Food
Safety (AFSSA) who issued their report in 2003. A summary of this
report and subsequent relevant studies has recently been published in
English in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Agronomy for
Sustainable Development.
The summary has concluded that organic foods have higher
levels of antioxidants, minerals, polyunsaturated fatty acids and
nutrient fibre and lower levels of nitrates, with 94-100% containing
no pesticide residue. Carbohydrates, protein and vitamin levels are
insufficiently documented.
The Organic Federation of Australia has noted that the
French study is more thorough and scientific than an earlier study by
the UK Food Standard Agency which contradicted its own data in the
conclusion.

DID YOU KNOW......?
Peaches have the highest recorded levels of pesticide
residue of all conventional plant produce. With stone fruit season
upon us, if you love peaches, make sure you're eating organic. Brown
onions have the lowest recorded levels of pesticide residue, so I
guess you can save some money there!
